"The Scarlet Letter" Hester Prynne's (Demi Moore) Pregnancy Prosthetic

Description

Belly prosthetic created by the production of "The Scarlet Letter" (1995) for Demi Moore's portrayal of "Hester Prynne." The prosthetic has flaps on the left and right that extend towards the back. The center front of the belly has a protruding naval and a vertical stretch mark. The majority of the prosthetic is still soft and pliable. Prosthetic has a foam insert with a cloth backing on its interior to keep its shape.

Condition

The top and bottom edges of the prosthetic have become dry and brittle with tears and loss noted. The left and right edges have been neatly cut, but it is unknown whether or not this is from production. There are red stains on the bottom at center, and dark staining throughout the prosthetic.
